Cookie policy
This document is a draft pending legal review.
This policy explains the cookies and similar technologies used on thecasinopick.com, what each one does, and how to change your choices at any time.
Everything except the necessary category is off until you allow it. You can reopen the settings at any time using the privacy choices link in our footer.
What cookies are
A cookie is a small file stored on your device by your browser. Similar technologies include local storage and tracking pixels; where we use those, we treat them the same way as cookies for consent purposes.
Categories we use
- Necessary — required for the site to work, including remembering your consent choice. These do not require consent and cannot be turned off
- Analytics — anonymous or pseudonymous measurement of how pages are used, so we know what to improve. Off until you allow it
- Marketing — attribution of clicks through to operators, and measurement of link performance. Off until you allow it
Changing your mind
Use the privacy choices link in the footer to reopen the consent panel and change any category. Withdrawing consent stops future processing; it does not undo processing already carried out.
You can also block or delete cookies in your browser settings, though blocking necessary cookies may stop parts of the site working.
Consent signals
Your choice is stored on your device and broadcast as a consent event that a Google Consent Mode v2 tag can subscribe to, so measurement tools receive denied or granted states for analytics and advertising storage accordingly.
| Cookie | Purpose | Duration | Category |
|---|---|---|---|
| tcp_consent | Stores your cookie choices so we do not ask again on every page. | 6 months | Necessary |
| tcp_session | Keeps the site working during a visit — routing and security. | Session | Necessary |
| _ga | Analytics: distinguishes visitors so we can count page views. | 2 years | Analytics |
| _ga_* | Analytics: maintains session state for measurement. | 2 years | Analytics |
| tcp_ref | Records which review page sent a click to an operator, for commission attribution. | 30 days | Marketing |
| tcp_ab | Marketing: records which version of a page layout you were shown. | 90 days | Marketing |
Frequently asked questions
Do you set advertising cookies before I choose?
No. Analytics and marketing are denied by default and nothing in those categories runs until you allow it.
How long is my choice remembered?
Six months, after which we ask again.
